CALL FOR APPLICATIONS:

AIPP Human Rights Advocacy Officer

QUALIFICATIONS:

·          Must be an indigenous person from Asia

·          Active member of an indigenous organization preferably working on human rights

·          Knowledgeable of human rights issues of indigenous peoples, and human rights bodies, mechanisms and procedures relating to indigenous peoples

·          Must possess good writing and communication skills in English

·          Excellent in multi-tasking

·          Positive attitude and behavior in multi-cultural working environment

·          Preferably from South East Asia

·          With strong commitment to indigenous peoples cause

MAIN TASKS:

1.      Assist Indigenous Peoples organizations to engage with human rights mechanisms at the regional (ASEAN) and international levels (UN), and for advocacy work on critical and urgent human rights issues of indigenous peoples

2.      Coordinate /assist in the preparation and conduct of human rights trainings, conferences and related activities of AIPP

3.      Coordinate/ assist in the preparation of reports, submissions and publications of AIPP relating to human rights.

4.      Assist in the preparation of funding proposals for AIPP activities relating to human rights, and reports to partners and donors

5.      Coordinate and work closely with the Human Rights (HR) Programme Coordinator and HR Committee members in the implementation of the AIPP Human Rights Programme

Compensation and benefits:

·          Minimum salary of Bhat 25,000 (approximately 800.00 USD)

·          Housing and personal communication allowance

·          Health Insurance

·          Airfare for annual home visit
